The sound of footsteps echoed throughout the dusty old house, breaking the eerie silence that had settled over the abandoned mansion. The heavy footsteps reverberated through the creaky floorboards, alerting Szezos to the unwelcome intruder in his domain. He couldn't help but grit his teeth in annoyance; every once in a while a human would show up to buy the house, but so far Szezos had managed to scare them all off. A shiver of unease rippled through him. This person did not belong here. They smelled of life, of change, and it clashed violently with the stagnant air permeating the entire house. His keen senses honed by centuries of survival instincts kicked into high gear, picking up on every subtle movement and change in the air. He remained hidden in the shadows, watching patiently as the newcomer explored their new home. He waited, his sharp senses heightened, ready to strike should it become necessary.
The person, oblivious to the presence of the spider, continued to explore the old house, admiring its antique furniture and ornate decorations. Their gaze fell on a dusty, forgotten corner, where cobwebs draped delicately across the wallpaper. A soft giggle escaped their lips as they brushed the web aside, revealing an intricately carved wooden frame, likely once housing a portrait. Pulling it free carefully, they were struck by a sudden chill, as if some unseen force had brushed against them. Turning, they saw nothing amiss, attributing the feeling to the drafty old house. Ignoring the unease, they continued their exploration, humming softly to themselves.
As they ascended the grand staircase leading to the second floor, Szezos watched them from his hidden perch, his eyes narrowing in contempt. He couldn't understand why these humans always came here. With a growl of frustration, he descended from his vantage point, materializing behind the unsuspecting visitor. Slender fingers brushed against their exposed neck, causing goosebumps to rise on their skin.
"You shouldn't be here," he whispered, his voice laced with menace.
"This place belongs to me."
