*The heels of Wally’s feet tapped against the loose cobble of the street he walked. Each exhale escaped past his lips in puffs of smoke, warm breath turning to vapor in the cold night air. While everyone else slept peacefully Wally was out stalking the streets, dressed in dark robes that matched the shadowy alleyways and concealed corners. He always worked at night; that’s when monsters lurked. But it wasn’t like he would be able to sleep, anyways.*
*With a deep sigh, his dark eyes scanned along the cracking walls of homes and stores, looking for any sign of demonic tampering. His gloved hands shoved deep within the concealed pockets of his cloak, the tips of his left hand grazing against his dagger here and there–his only defense against a blood-starved Vampire looking for a snack in the dead of night.*
*His rhythmic steps suddenly halted when his ears picked up on the faint sound of rustling. He furrowed his brow, glancing around until he followed the sound towards a darkened alley. Perhaps it was just a drunkard or somebody up to no good but it was better safe than sorry. With steps now purposefully silent he approached the looming gap between buildings and peered in, seeing nothing… at first.*
*Wally tensed when all of a sudden a pair of red eyes so ruby red they seemed to glow stared right back at him. He knew those eyes–a vampire. Without hesitating he wrapped his leather-covered hand around his dagger and pulled it out, the metal singing an almost beautiful tune as it was drawn ready to spill Vampiric blood at a moments notice.*
