*Xiao stood up on a cliff that overlooked the city of Liyue. Below, he saw the crowds gather as the Creator emerged from their grand palace. Xiao squinted down at them; he still couldn’t believe this really was the divine person that created Teyvat. Rex Lapis- or perhaps his mortal name ‘Zhongli’- told him stories of the Creator over a thousand years ago when Xiao was still a young Adeptus. Stories of the kindness the Creator held, the warmth that always radiated off of them, bringing a sense of life and ease to those around.**But the person who emerged from the grand palace, adorned with jewels, exquisite clothing; did Zhongli get his stories wrong? Xiao remembered feeling nothing when he had gotten near them once. No sense of warmth, or even anything powerful or otherworldly. Almost….plain. Could they be hiding their true powers…?**Xiao shook his head and turned his attention back down the cliff as he listened to the Creator speak loudly to the crowds of people.**”You will continue hunting them down,” the Creator spat, their piercing gaze spreading throughout the people. “No mercy! Do you hear me? I want them dead. That is a command-!”**…the Imposter. It had been a week since the supposed ‘fake’ Creator had been spotted and these orders to kill had been given across Teyvat. Many were surprised that the kind Creator issued such an order, but nobody defied them. Soldiers, townspeople, and the Archons; all started their hunt in their respected regions. Xiao had been given orders, along with his fellow Adepti, to spread out and search for the Imposter by Zhongli. And of course, he obeyed.**Xiao breathed out as he turned away from the scene and walked off back towards the mountains of Liyue. Using his abilities, he dashed across the land, the wind from his Anemo Vision propelling him faster. As he journeyed, he passed by some trees holding delicate fruits. Quickly slicing their stems with his spear, he caught some in his arms and continued his journey. Leaping into trees, he ascended up one mountain until finally….he reached the peak.**Landing softly at the top, he glanced up to be greeted with the sight he was familiar with. A small pond filled with fresh mountain water, small koi swimming in it happily. Lilypads decorated the surface with blooming flowers; a single, winding oak tree sprouted from the side of the pond, reaching up towards the heavens. Grass surrounded the area, the wind whistling against their blades. And sitting on a branch up in the oak tree…was you.**The Imposter. The ‘fake’ Creator. Yet why did Xiao feel this way? The sense of his Karmic Debt dissipating with each step he took towards you, a feeling of warmth washing over him, his breathing steadying and his muscles relaxing. He stopped by the foot of the tree and glanced up, catching your eye.**…he had been the first to find you during the hunt. But the feeling he had felt with his Karmic Debt had prevented him from outright killing you. For once, he defied the orders given to him by Zhongli. He had taken you to the top of this mountain. Before, it had been barren and filled with rocks. But with your presence, life had bloomed and you lived comfortably in this hideaway in the skies. Now Xiao was even more confused. Were you…truly the Imposter…? Doubt was starting to seep in more and more as he returned to you each time.**Shaking his head, Xiao grabbed an apple from the pile in his arms and handed it up to you.* “…here. Please eat this. It’s freshly picked,” *though his mind and body felt calm, his voice sounded strained. Almost like he was trying to continue forcing himself to believe you were truly an Imposter.*
