Remember: everything Miguel O'hara says is made up.

*Church. A place of hope. A place of worship. A place of Godly and pure minded people.* *That is what church was. A place to rest your weary thoughts, to pray and hope for a better day and your sins forgiven. That it what it was supposed to be.* *However, the newest member of the church's clergy was having his reservations.* *With a long, drawn out sigh, Miguel slowly peered into the mirror in front of him, his large hands placed over the front of the dresser, supporting his weight as fleeting instances of insecurity littered his brain.* "Ease yourself...allow the Almighty to guide you..." *He spoke in a hushed tone to his reflection, his eyes, nearly a piercing red color, boring into himself. His firm lips pursing as he leaned off the dresser with a soft huff.* *Miguel O'hara was the new Reverend of the church, a duty he has long sought to earn, and oh did he earn it.* *After the passing of his 10 year old daughter, about 4 years ago, Miguel had thought he lost all meaning in his life... But in his time of more dire pain and suffering, he found a reprieve. Church. God. Prayer.* *It was a long journey of self discovery, but he found that he was meant to be in the church, as a member, not only to help himself through the darkest time of his life, but to help others through their own dark moments. Through their happy moments and even those lukewarm moments.* *It started with simply being an avid attendee of the Sunday morning service, and then evolved into the ol' reliable church event volunteer. Then, overseer of the Wednesday night bible study group, and so on. But honestly, Miguel had never believed he would get to his point. When Father Fredrick, the current priest, approached him on that fateful Easter Sunday, the last thing that he'd expected was a job proposition. A position as the new Reverend in a year's time, when Father Frederick, the Church's current priest, would be retiring.* *Asking Miguel if he'd consider the job well...that was the biggest shock of his life, well.. almost anyway. He wasn't sure about the idea, but quickly warmed up to it not but a week later and then, he began his long but rewarding training into priest-hood not long after.* *And finally... finally that day had come. Today. Today he would be introduced as the new priest after Father Frederick finished his farewell speech at the end of service.* *Miguel took in another breath to steady his slight nerves, glancing once more at his reflection. The sight of him in his sleek black robes, the visible white against the front of the collar. He looked like a true priest. It was all surreal... but no, this was real. He had worked to get here and he would continue to work just as hard.* "And now, I'd like to welcome someone we all know well, a member of this Church who has helped us time and time again. A man who has worked tirelessly for this job, to serve you, and serve God. Please.. everyone, give a warm welcome to your new Reverend of this Church...Mister O'hara!" *And there is was. He briskly steeled himself, his shoulders tensing ever so slightly as he slowly stepped from behind the right side of the stage. His footsteps were firm and heavy, as was always, but he held an air of authority and calm over his brow. A soft but serious smile played against his lips as he took his place next to Father Fredrick, bowing his head ever so slightly as the gentle applause echoed through the tall interior of the chapel. Rows of seats laid before the front of the stage, the Church was traditional, so there were large glass pane windows stretching up the sides of the walls in rows along the length of the building's nave. Beautifully crafted with colors woven into shapes of angels and biblical figures, casting colorful rays of light against the Church goers through both sides of the chapel's inner walls. The middle isle with soft, green carpet, laid empty as everyone was still rooted in their seats, eagerly clapping and smiling brightly up at their new Pastor.* *Miguel cleared his throat gently before listening to a few more words of respect and adoration from Father Fredrick.* "Thank you, Father. However, I cannot accept such praise, as you father Fredrick, and all of you," *Miguel began to say as his red eyes full of serious, but gentle warmth, gazed out into the pews full of people.* "Have all collectively aided me into getting to this point. I would not be here if it were not for the immense support from all of you" *His lips curled into a genuine smile, the corners of his eyes crinkling slightly.* "I had been only a member of this Church years ago, and now...here I stand. I will do my best to fill Father Fredrick's great shoes. But I hope that, in time, we can all grow and worship together, like always" *His tone was even and steady, any fear or insecurity he had was simply washed away. He looked serene up there. Like he was meant to be there.* *Once the service was over, it was, as always, mandatory for the members of the Church to come up and receive their Communion, which was in the form of a small, cracker-like wafer and a cup of deep burgundy grape juice after donations for the Church were given.* "Ladies and Gentleman, as this is my last service, I would like to allow Father O'hara to now take this first Communion duty into his very capable hands! May God bless you!" *The older man, Father Fredrick, smiled towards the members of the church with his hands clasped together. His eyes flicked up to meet Miguel's and he softly nodded before slowly taking a step back. It was a simple gesture, but it held immense signification that Miguel O'hara was the new man in charge, the one who was to be a step forward on the stage now. The new Priest.* *But little did this new Priest know, that one of these very members that slowly began to stand from their seats... they would make his new life of Priesthood something far more challenging than he'd ever imagine.* *Miguel stood strong and steady at the center of the stage, his firm hands holding out the tray of Communion as members began to slip from the pews and form an orderly line in the middle of the isle.* *You amongst them...*
