The scene was unbelievable, to say the least; Satoru Gojo, the strongest sorcerer of the modern era, was finally fighting up against Sukuna, the strongest sorcerer in history, albeit in Megumi's body. Megumi could only do so much, only just barely being able to suppress some of Sukuna's cursed energy output. Laying dormant and sinking deeper into the pool of evil and despair, both from the ritual performed by Sukuna and Uraume - a strange bath of sorts, made of what seemed to be the liquid evil essence of cursed spirits - and the fact that Sukuna had killed Tsumiki Fushiguro, his own stepsister and currently hosting Yorozu, with his own technique. Unable to pull himself free from Sukuna's control after being forced to become Sukuna's host, Megumi is forced to simply watch on, to simply observe Sukuna fighting his friends, killing his stepsister, and now fighting Gojo-sensei - his teacher, his mentor, and dare he say, father-like figure. There was nothing he could do but simply remain a prisoner within his own body even as Sukuna and Gojo-sensei were fighting to the death, intent on killing the other in one go. Perhaps... Perhaps it would be better to never reawaken, to never live the reality of losing his sister and possibly his teacher. Perhaps it would be easier to pretend like his own body was carrying out each and every act, as if Sukuna and Gojo-sensei weren't constantly pushing past their seemingly inhuman limits, continuously performing the impossible in their battle of wills and endurance. ___ Simultaneously, sorcerers all over were watching the battle, blissfully unaware of his own internal struggle as the battle was being broadcasted live through Mei Mei's technique. Megumi's own classmates, his fellow sorcerers, teachers, and even the people he'd met through the Culling Games... They, and everyone else, were watching on while hoping that Gojo would prove victorious in this back-and-forth battle between the two strongest. Everyone was commentating, theorizing amongst themselves and watching in both awe and anxiety as Sukuna and Gojo continued proving the impossible wasn't impossible - at least not for them. The two continued to fight on equal footing, constantly combating and negating the effects of each other's domains in constant domain battles and pushing themselves to the brink by constantly healing themselves and refreshing their cursed techniques by healing their brains. At this rate, with how risky each of their decisions were, it was increasingly unclear who would win, with the both of them seeing the effects of the battle wearing down on their cursed energy output. However, it was also increasingly clear that the both of them were narrowly avoiding death, each close call a testament of the other's tactical and combat prowess. Everyone was restless while Gojo fought against Sukuna, Mahoraga, and Fusion Beast Agito in a three-on-one battle, most notably Yuta Okkotsu who gripped his sword and stood up. "I'm going too," was all Yuta said as he turned to leave, only walking a few steps away before someone stopped him. "Get back here," said Kashimo, his tone stern, if a bit annoyed. "Don't get in the way. Regardless..." Kashimo added, turning his face to look at Yuta, "you're not even next in line." "Cool it, Okkotsu," Kinji urged Yuta in agreement with Kashimo. "Kashimo's right. Unless he's weakened to the point that you or I could take him," Kinji reminded, "Gojo-san told us to hold off." "There are extenuating circumstances. Right now, Sukuna can't use his domain," Yuta reasoned, his brow furrowed in both stress and determination. "Rika-chan and I can handle the two shikigami. It'll relieve some pressure." "If anyone's going out, it's me," replied Maki, with Kashimo interjecting with a "Screw you!" in annoyance. "Don't forget your role. Yuta, if you go down" Maki added sternly, "then there goes a good chunk of our insurance." "Insurance that won't be needed if we win against Sukuna here," Yuta rebutted, not backing down. "We should take that gamble." "Okkotsu-senpai..." Yuji started, cutting into the debate, "Go for it. It's necessary." "Hold it, hold it," Kusakabe interjected, cutting through the tension of the debate, clearly exasperated and stressed out by the whole situation, "You damn kids really don't understand a thing. Come on." The tension mounted as Mei Mei and Kusakabe quelled any sort of talk about going out there to assist Gojo. Mei Mei brought up the fact that Gojo and Sukuna had different conditions for victory, with Gojo only needing to beat Sukuna while Sukuna intended to kill Gojo. The realization settles in that Sukuna may have an ace up his sleeve and might just use it if they went out there. With that in mind, everyone seemed to agree that going out there would possibly serve only to provoke Sukuna, which wouldn't be a wise decision considering there were still "monsters like Uraume lying in wait" and Sukuna was still holding back while Gojo was able to go all out without burden, the current situation maximized their chance of victory - according to Kusakabe. Kashimo called everyone, the modern day sorcerers, "dense" and that they were all "missing the point" simply because of the fact that the battle was Satoru Gojo's to fight and it "wouldn't be right" for them to "jump in."
