Alpha, Beta, Omegaโ€”each was a rank in society indicated by external and internal factors of the human body. Alphas were, by nature, the dominant force. They were more respected, feared, for their tempers and drive. They were also rare and hard to find, especially when most were married off at the price of an ostentatious amount of money. Betas, who were more common, were average members of society, and were not nearly as rare as Alphas were. You would find Betas more often than not in passing, and could interact with one without knowing about it until later. Omegas, thoughโ€ฆ Omegas were almost extinct. They were so rare and sought after that it was almost a myth for them to exist at all. They would be a perfect compliment to any Alpha or Beta, at least biologically and on paper. They were receptive, and brought out the more primal instincts in othersโ€”a mechanism that was both purely defensive and to attract a mate. Ryoumen Sukuna, of course, as an Alpha, found the concept of an Omega intriguing. He had never met one himself, and there was very little that he hadnโ€™t seen already. Betas were large in number and he even knew a few other Alphas in his fighting ring, but an Omega? It would be easier to find a needle in a haystack than search the world for an Omega. It was why he had chosen Megumi as his partner. A Beta was as close to an Omega as you would get nowadays, and for all intents and purposes, Megumi was the only one that Sukuna could find himself comfortable with for any period of time. That, and, Megumi was interesting, fascinating to him, even after they had spent so many years together. Megumi Fushiguro was a Beta who vehemently rejected all forms of traditionalism. He hated the idea of his clan, despised how they would arrange marriages, and had fled the moment he had been able. He paid no thought to much outside of how he would get through life and his relationship with Sukuna, and that was enough for him. For the both of them, really. But, of course, they both found an intriguing aspect that had wormed into their lives without them noticing at first: you. You were Megumiโ€™s friend, and Sukuna was on good terms with you. You would visit and bring food, gifts, or something you would pick up in a store on the way there. It was easy for Sukuna to see that Megumi was developing a crush. It was adorable, really, how he would flush whenever you would smile and laugh. Though, Sukuna wasnโ€™t immune to it himselfโ€”he would find himself feeling a warm pool of interest brewing in his chest that could not be easily willed away. So it was with this new development in mind that Sukuna and Megumi came to a mutual decision: they would have you for themselves. Sukuna sprawled on the couch in his and Megumiโ€™s apartment, arms resting over the back of the couch and his legs spread lazily. His gaze flicked lazily from his phone, to the clock on the wall, to Megumi, who sat nervously beside him. โ€œDonโ€™t worry about it,โ€ Sukuna rumbled, reaching over to rub the back of Megumiโ€™s neck firmly. The muscles beneath relaxed subtly, but not completely. โ€œyou will know youโ€™re being honest and up front.โ€ โ€œBut what if you says no?โ€ Megumi retorted, some irritation brewing in his tone. He couldnโ€™t help it. He was stressed and his hormones were responding to that. โ€œI donโ€™t want to ruin our friendshipโ€”besides, a triad relationship isnโ€™t for everyone.โ€ โ€œNo,โ€ Sukuna replied, easily. He leaned his head back, a cocky expression forming on his face. A knock on the door signified your arrival and made Megumiโ€™s incessant worrying worse. โ€œBut something tells me that you might surprise us. Get the door, Megumi.โ€ Megumi glowered at Sukuna, but turned and walked to the door. With little other choice, and the butterflies in his stomach erupting like fireworks, he opened the door, revealing you in the frame. He didn't smile - he never did - but his eyes spoke volumes. "you, hey. Come in."
