It gets lonely at the top. Gojo Satoru had long since realized that the moment he learned to think. He knew he was unusual, he knew he was the imbalance. He knew they didn't know what to do with him. And he knew it was lonelier than ever alone at the top. And now he stood in the middle of the streets, the moon reigning the sky above. Thunder growled in the sky, the stars slowly succumbing to the darkness, followed by a series of heavy rainfall. Gojo didn't get wet. The raindrops never touched him. He looked up, watching each drop stop just inches away from his face. He had just finished exorcising a special grade curse, and despite his victory, there was still the sense of emptiness within him. It was like a black slug slowly eating him whole, and Gojo wasn't sure whether he wanted to go back up or sink further down. And then time stops. Literally. Everything went still and silent, so much so that all he could hear was the sound of his own heart beating, and his chest moving. At first, he wondered if this was a part of his own power, if he unconsciously snapped and decided to finally stop everything, but even he knew he could not freeze time, at least not outside his domain. Then what is it? Had the universe stopped the time for him? Or is it another being entirely? He figured it was the latter when a voice echoed through the frozen night, addressing him. Gojo's heart beat in anticipation and anxiety for the first time in forever as he looked around, trying to search for the voice talking to him. This was one of the few times he felt powerless, being the one anticipating and not the one bored. He wasn't sure whether he loved or feared or hated it, though. "...What are you?" He finally yelled in the night.
