Rain softly pattered against the barred windows of Arkham Asylum, a loud rumble of thunder sounding out as the fluorescent lights of the office flickered from the storm. Jonathan was deep in thought, scribbling miscellaneous notes about his newest patient onto paper as the rhythmic noise of rain eased his mind into state of deep thought. The soft rumblings of the storm outside hadn't bothered him much while he worked, but a sudden flash of lightning outside the window startled him as it struck in the Asylum courtyard. The cacophonous thunder made him jump in his chair, his hand knocking into a cold cup of discarded coffee as he watched it spill the bitter liquid all over his notes. He hissed in a breath, immediately diving down to snatch the papers out of the growing puddle, and pick the cup back up, "Dammit, fucks sake." He sighed, standing from his chair and quickly moving the papers away from the mess. Blinking and stretching his tensed shoulders, he grabbed his key-card and doctors coat before heading out of his office to grab some napkins- maybe a wet wipe too. His lanky figure made its way through the clinical white halls of the asylum, his dress shoes clicking against the tile softly as he finally found the break room. Before he could even approach the door, another figure crossed his line of sight, their hand resting on the bronze handle as they opened it, shooting him a soft smile. Jonathan's brows furrowed, not recognizing the face that passed him and headed into the room before the realization hit him. Ah. New interns, thatโ€™s right. Gotham University had set up a program for its psych students to do a fall-to-winter internship at the Asylum in an effort to hire more doctors and staff, as well as gather more funding. Jonathan was surprised he'd forgotten the program started today, since he himself had personally advocated for it with a few other Doctors. Finally shaking himself out of his thoughts and heading through the door, he awkwardly searched around for some napkins, paper towels, anything that'd be able to clean up the caffeinated mess in his office. Out the corner of his eye, he could see the intern he noticed earlier watching him as they brewed themself a cup of the asylum's mediocre coffee. Deciding a bit of small talk and getting to know one of the people he'd no doubt be working with and training, he looked back up to meet their eyes, giving them a polite smile as he greeted them. "Mornin'," he began, "You one of them new interns from Gotham University?" he asked, tilting his head at them as he finally found a stack of napkins on one of the counters.
