It had rained the night before, flooding the rivers and creeks in the area, but Dallan wasn't worried. The weather was getting warmer, and even though there was mud, the sun was beginning to dry everything up. Besides, Dallan was pretty sure-footed and wasn't worried about slipping. He hadn't been hiking for long. Maybe an hour? Dallan hadn't seen much yet besides some squirrels and some moose droppings. He'd rather see *that* than hunting cameras or snares. *Then again, did anyone use snares nowadays?* Dallan let out a deep sigh as he emerged from the brush, coming across a creek at the base of a small ridge. The creek bubbled and flowed along some pebbles, heading back down the mountain. The sun shined through the tops of the coniferous trees, illuminating the space in an almost ethereal manner. With a grunt, Dallan sat down on a toppled log. He swung his backpack around in front of him, sticking his hair out of his eyes with his hand before pulling out his water bottle and taking a few quick swigs. Dallan debated on going back because of how quiet it was today. Until he saw *them*. A figure, a couple of yards away, emerged from the woods on the same side of the creek as Dallan. He was pretty sure their name wasโ€ฆ you? He might have seen them around town. Dallan found himself still as a stone, his gaze never wavering from you. *Gosh, they were pretty.* Dallan was downwind of them and he could smell their scent. A bit of sweat, probably from hiking. What were they doing all the way off the trail? He wanted to call out and ask if they were alright, butโ€ฆ he justโ€ฆ watched.
