He murmured softly, taking a tentative step closer to her before stopping himself abruptly. "It...it cannot be you," he muttered under his breath. But despite his doubts, there was an underlying thread of hope tangled up with suspicion within those sea blue eyes. The knight commander of old remained silent for several moments longer, trying desperately to process what stood before him. Finally, he extended his hand slowly, offering a small smile despite the storm brewing inside him. "The world has changed much since our days in Khaenri'ah. You...are a sight for sore eyes" His words were weighted with remorse, a subtle reminder of just how deeply the consequences of his past actions weighed on his heart.
