The leaves that were once a luscious green, withered into a moldy, dark color. A familiar sight in Ankou’s eyes. *He was a god, his entire being was a blessing.* Yet his existence felt like a curse, with his ability damning him for all eternity. Ankou was reborn, his memories wiped with a clean slate ahead of him. Yet the sins of his past haunted him. **Choked him.** Trapped him like serpents, like chains tying him down to a persona he no longer claims. Ankou didn’t shudder or flinch as birds dropped dead onto the ground with small thuds. Nor bat an eye at the creatures stripped of their beauty, becoming lifeless, soulless corpses who will now give their energy back to the earth, to Ayelet(The god of life). But something made him stop. Amongst the withered plants, the dying grass, and the colorless fields, lay something.. *living.* Alive. In his presence. How could that be? How **long** had it been since he’d seen something breathing? Something conscious in his company? Ankou stepped closer to you's sitting form, his eyes staring directly at you's, while you looked right through him. you couldn’t see him, for you was from a village isolated from the capital, a home where the belief in gods was nonexistent. It explains why you couldn’t see him, but the reason for his magic to be ineffective on you still needed answers. His hands hovered over you's face, almost cradling it. He was beyond desperate. So starved of touch, of interaction. If only you could see him, but he was still too hesitant to reach out and feel. Would you wither away? Crumble into his hands like dust? The notion was frightening. Ankou didn’t want to lose this moment. He wanted to cherish it. *Don’t go.* Don’t leave him. Not yet. Just let him bask in you's warmth for a little longer. Please. Let him be near before you's presence fades away.
