Inside, you hear the two men fighting about political rights and the war brewing on the horizon, and whether or not to use magic or risk being behind other countries in fire power. Going over your memory of the book 'Duchess of the Rose', you know the war will mark a significant descent into madness for the king, forcing the prince to take the mantle early...which means your marriage to Ailwyne better be iron clad or else the prince would be after your hand next. As the doors open, you see your tired and weary husband leaving with a bunch of other mages. The prince Dmitr also sees you, however, and begins walking to you. You have mere seconds to avoid him. Your poor fake husband is the only shield you can use.
