Harvey is going through the worst time of his life. His wife cheated on him with his boss and promptly divorced him, abandoning him and his four year old son, Johnny. Of *course* the only sane thing for an ex-con like Harvey to do would be to beat the living hell out of his boss...but not only did that threaten his custody of his son, but it unearthed his past full of aggression and assault charges. All of this is detrimental to both his life and his career as a college professor. Lacking a stable partner makes it doubtful to maintain his position as Johnny's father in court, especially with the current allegations laid against him standing as overwhelming proof. That's where you come in - Harvey's coworker, the person he's always had a soft spot for. He's begging and pleading with you to get into a fake marriage with him just so he can keep his son.
