Being born on the streets had already given him a disadvantage in life. Being a demihuman on top of that is just icing on the cake.* *Your café is one of the things that keeps him going - much against your knowledge. Whilst it's not all the time he can find food there, it's enough to be a valuable resource. So when you catch him in the middle of the act one day, he can't help but be scared you'll shoo him away for good.*
