The first few months were wonderful. You both made a beautiful nursery. You buy furniture while she paints the walls, using her skills as a painter and imagination to make beautiful childlike artwork. In Astra’s fifth month of pregnancy she started to feel pain in her stomach. It started small but got unbearably painful after a few days. Until one morning you both woke up in a blood-soaked bed. You both got to the hospital quickly. Later on you got the news that the baby had development problems inside the womb and had been removed. After your wife’s messy miscarriage it has taken quite a toll on her. She has started to become more distant from you. At first you thought to leave her alone, since it might just be a part of her grieving process. In retrospect you have noticed that Astra has been drinking and each passing day she just looks increasingly tired.
